What is RomSafer?
RomSafer is an intelligent mobile security app that protects your phone from theft and unauthorized access using sensors like motion detection, charger removal detection, and more.
Is the app free to use?
We offer a free version with essential features like Charger Unplug Alarm and Switchoff Alarm. Premium features like Intruder Alarm, Snatch robbery Alarm, Pickpocket Alarm and Email Alerts are available in our affordable subscription plans.

Features

How does Pickpocket Alarm work?
Pickpocket Alarm uses your phone's proximity and light sensors. If someone tries to pull your phone out of your pocket or bag while the mode is active, an alarm sounds instantly.
What is Intruder Alarm?
When someone tries to unlock your phone with the wrong PIN or Pattern, RomSafer silently triggers an alarm and sends a notification to your email if enabled.
Does it work offline?
Yes! The core alarms (Charger, Switchoff, Robbery, pickpocket) work entirely offline. Email alerts require an internet connection to send the email, but the alarm will still sound without it.

Advanced Settings

What is Smart Link?
Smart Link allows you to activate two related alarms simultaneously with a single tap. For example, you can link Shutdown & Charging alarms or Pickpocket & Robbery alarms for enhanced protection.
Can I adjust the alarm sensitivity?
Yes. In the settings, you can adjust the Motion Sensitivity slider. This controls how easily the specific Snatch Robbery alarm triggers when movement is detected.
How do I schedule alarms?
You can set automatic start and stop times for your protection modes. This is useful for automatically activating alarms during your daily commute or sleep hours.

Clap & SIM Features

How does Clap to Find work?
When enabled, RomSafer listens for two sharp claps in quick succession. If your phone is lost under a couch or pillow nearby, clapping twice will instantly trigger an alarm so you can easily locate it.
What is SIM Change Detection?
If a thief takes out your SIM card or replaces it, RomSafer immediately detects the hardware change and sends a silent email alert to your registered address with the new SIM details (if available) and the device's location.

Web Dashboard & Remote Control

How do I find my phone remotely (Remote Locate)?
If your phone is stolen, log into the Web Dashboard from any device and click "Find My Phone". This will silently trigger your phone to fetch its exact GPS coordinates and log them into your dashboard's Activity panel.
Can I lock my phone remotely?
Yes. The "Remote Lock" feature on the Web Dashboard instantly forces your phone to lock its screen. The thief will not be able to bypass the lock screen without knowing your device's PIN or pattern.
How does Remote Factory Reset work?
Use with extreme caution. Clicking "Factory Reset" on the Web Dashboard triggers a permanent factory data reset. All photos, contacts, and personal data are immediately destroyed to prevent identity theft. This action cannot be undone.
What does Remote Alarm do?
The "Remote Alarm" triggers an incredibly loud alarm on your phone, even if the thief has put it in "Silent" or "Do Not Disturb" mode. This is useful for either scaring off the thief or finding the phone if it's hidden nearby.

Troubleshooting

I'm not receiving email alerts.
1. Check your spam folder.
2. Ensure you have granted the Location permission.
3. Verify that the "Email Alerts" toggle is ON in the settings.
4. Make sure your device has an active internet connection at the time of the alert.
The app stops working in the background.
Some phones put apps to sleep to save battery. To fix this:
1. Go to your phone's Settings > Apps > RomSafer > Battery.
2. Select "Unrestricted" or "No Restrictions".
3. Lock the app in your "Recent Apps" menu if possible.
