Romsafer ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our application collects, uses, and safeguards your information. We do not store your personal data on any external servers. All data processing is performed locally on your device or sent directly to you via your own email credentials.
2. Permissions and Data Usage
To function as an anti-theft device, Romsafer requires the following permissions. We use these strictly for the core functionality of the app:
Location (Background & Foreground)
Purpose: To locate your device if it is lost or stolen.
Usage: When a theft event is detected (e.g., wrong PIN, charger removal, snatch detection), the app retrieves your precise location and sends it to your designated email address.
Accessibility Service
Purpose: To prevent unauthorized device powering off during a theft event.
Usage: The app monitors system actions to detect the power menu and prevent the device from being switched off by an unauthorized user. This service is not used to collect user data or monitor text entry.
Device Admin
Purpose: To detect incorrect password attempts (Intruder Alert).
Usage: This permission allows the app to monitor unlock attempts.
3. Data Storage and Sharing
- No Cloud Storage: We do not upload your data, location, or credentials to any developer server.
- Email Transmission: Alerts (containing time and location) are sent using the email credentials you provide locally within the app.
4. Third-Party Services
The app utilizes Google Maps API services strictly for location rendering within the emails sent to you.
